SENetwork invites members of the social service, health, law enforcement, justice community and other interested community members to join us for a day of examining human trafficking with a focus on minor victims.
We will hear a general overview of domestic and international human trafficking, including the prevalence and misconceptions. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive up to date information on topics related to understanding the victims and how traffickers groom them. We will also learn how the internet is used both to support the proliferation of trafficking, and serve as a tool for those fighting against it. We will engage participants in a discussion of the challenges across the continuum of service providers (Social Services, Health Care and Law Enforcement) and facilitate an afternoon networking session for participants to identify local issues that should be addressed and to build an action plan to address these challenges.
Please note – We will be breaking for lunch so participants can venture out in groups or you are welcome to bring a snack with you.
